| Summer 2011 Girl Scout Programs |
New for this summer...we will be offering programs for individual Girl Scouts to earn their horse badges and patches. (Troops can still schedule their own dates to earn these badges.)
Do you have a Girl Scout who wants to earn her Horse Fan or Horse Rider Badge? This summer we have several sessions where Girl Scouts can earn these badges on their own:

Horse Fan Badge
For the "Horse Fan" Badge, Girls Scout Juniors will be completing 6 of the 10 listed activities in their badge book. (#1,2,3,4,6 & 7). Each scout will receive a fun, educational and interactive workbook to take home along with the "Horse Fan" Badge and great memories! Each workshop will require 4-5 hours to complete with lots of opportunities to interact and learn from some very friendly horses and ponies.
Age Level: Girl Scout Juniors
Fee: $40 per girl
Dates: Arranged to meet your troop's needs; call or e-mail for available dates
Other: There is a 6 girl minimum to book a session. $100 deposit required at time of booking with full payment due one week in advance of each session. There are no required horseback riding activities for the "Horse Fan" Badge. However, if your troop would like to add on a ride, there will be an additional cost of $85 per troop and one additional hour.

Giddy Up and Go!!
The "Giddy Up and Go" Try-It Badge is for horse lovin' Brownie Scouts. Scouts will learn about safety around horses; basic horse care and handling. Everyone will get a chance to groom and lead a friendly pony, then "tack-up" and take a short "pony ride". Educational materials, "Giddy Up and Go" Try-It patch, (designed by the Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road Council) and snacks included. Approximately 1-2 hours, $20/scout, 6 scout minimum to book a date.
After School and weekend dates available; choose your dates when you book a reservation.

Make Reservations for "Giddy Up and Go" Try-It Patch for Brownie Scouts!

|
|
$50 deposit required at time of reservation; balance due two weeks prior to session. $20/scout; 6 scout minimum. Forms will be sent to Troop leader after booking received.

Daisy Scouts troop can earn a variety of "Fun Patches"! Including "Horse Fun", "Horsemanship" and "Horseback Riding".
Individuals and troops can also earn the Junior Scout "Horse Rider Badge".
Cadets may work towards or earn the "Horse Sense" Interest Project Award.
